Our Focus Areas

Community

CPChem has long been a good neighbor in Orange as the company’s existing facility there has been part of the community for more than half a century. Our local spend is over a quarter of a billion dollars, and nearly half of our permanent and construction workforce comes from the Golden Triangle region.

Sustainability

We remain focused on doing our part to stop plastic waste and continuing to improve our emissions and energy performance. Golden Triangle Polymers targets production of high-density polyethylene while leveraging energy-saving, modern technology that is expected to allow for lower greenhouse gas emissions than at similar facilities.

Safety

CPChem is known for operating safe, reliable facilities around the world. The new plant will be managed through CPChem’s existing Operational Excellence System, developed and refined over decades of experience.

Suppliers

We strive to work alongside diverse, sustainable and socially responsible suppliers.

Our Location

Located southwest of the city of Orange, Golden Triangle Polymers will sit between Foreman Road and Highway 87. The new facility sits just across the street from the Chevron Phillips Chemical-Orange Plant.

CPChem and QatarEnergy have a long history of collaboration, jointly operating several facilities in Qatar – including Qatar Chemical Company Ltd., Qatar Chemical Company II Ltd., and Ras Laffan Olefins Company – that are recognized as some of the safest and most reliable assets in CPChem’s global portfolio.

With a shared commitment to creating safe and reliable operations, we are proud to bring the Golden Triangle Polymers facility to Orange, Texas.

CPChem, as the construction manager for the Golden Triangle Polymers project, wants to give qualified workers opportunities to compete for jobs. The project will support approximately 4,500 construction jobs and more than 500 permanent full-time jobs.

CPChem conducted an extensive economic impact study with the support of outside experts when considering Orange as the location for the Golden Triangle Polymers facility.

The results of that study showed the net economic impact from this new facility will provide meaningful benefits to the community. The project will generate an estimated $50 billion for the area in economic output over 20 years during construction and operations.
