At Golden Triangle Polymers, innovation meets precision – and behind it all is Chloe Goodman, one of our Control Systems Supervisors. A Beaumont native with a passion for problem-solving, Chloe ensures our plant runs smoothly with a love for tech and the people she works with.
From Chemistry to Control Systems
Chloe never set out to be an engineer. She actually dreamed of being a teacher, but her path shifted when her grandfather, a former DuPont operator, and her aunt, a former educator, introduced her to the idea of engineering. After earning her chemistry degree at the University of Houston and interning at BASF, Chloe discovered her love for solving problems and the nature of process control.
As Control Systems Supervisor, Chloe oversees the plant’s automation systems, ensuring instruments, control valves, and processes function seamlessly. Her role is all about troubleshooting, team collaboration, and continuous improvement – while building strong relationships with the operators and technicians she works with.
Every day presents new challenges, especially learning the complexities of ethelyne and polyethylene systems. But Chloe thrives on this, constantly improving efficiency and keeping up with the latest technologies. “Every day brings something new to figure out, and that’s what keeps it exciting.”
Why GTP?
Chloe’s journey to Golden Triangle Polymers started with curiosity during one of her many drives past Chevron Phillips Chemical’s Cedar Bayou plant in Baytown, Texas. A quick online job search led her to an exciting opportunity, and now she’s part of a supportive, growth-focused team at GTP. “The culture is amazing,” she says. “The opportunities to grow are endless.”
Chloe is passionate about refining plant operations and making continuous improvements. She loves solving problems and collaborating with her team to make processes even better. It’s not just about keeping things running – it’s about making them better.
Outside the Plant
When she’s not optimizing systems, Chloe enjoys family time with her husband, Chris, and their 7-year-old daughter, Calleigh. Together, they love exploring museums and water parks.
Chloe’s story proves that careers don’t always follow a straight path. Her journey is driven by connection – both with people and with the systems she works to improve.
“The thing I’ve been manifesting all these years…to finally see it happening to me…I’m so grateful. Even though it’s a large project, the camaraderie is great. You don’t feel like just a number.”
